Throughout this time in quarantine, it can be challenging to figure out what to do and where to begin. With so many people out there telling us what to do or what not to do and how to spend or invest our money, it’s a challenge to know what will have the most impact.

Below, I outline some ways I’ve made myself useful during this time.

11 Productive Ways to Spend Your Time During Quarantine:

  1. Get around to the things you’ve been meaning to do, but haven’t yet gotten to. Organize your file cabinets, do the yard work, clean the house, you name it.
  2. Pursue continuing education. Take that online course, workshop, or get the certification you’ve been eyeing. Sites like Coursera and Udemy are offering many free and discounted courses. There is no better time to learn a new skill.
  3. Journal — take some deep time each day to reflect on the highs, the lows, the lessons learned, and anything else on your mind. A gratitude journal or journal prompts are excellent ways to do this.
  4. Adopt a new habit —whether it’s going for a morning run, meditating, drinking more water, now is a great time to focus on establishing consistency and regularity through a cornerstone habit.
  5. Teach yourself a new skill — pick up that guitar and start strumming, teach yourself how to bake bread, or figure out how to change the tires on your own bike/car. Of course, this may be with the help of YouTube and Wikipedia :)
  6. Create and build an online presence. Whether you’ve been wanting to start a podcast or you’re a daily blogger, there is no better time to establish yourself online and find ways to add value.
  7. (Re)connect with others. Call up your old friends, check in on family members, read your kids a book, or reach out to someone new. Social support is more important now than ever. Make it a priority to talk with the closest people in your life and tell them how much they mean to you.
  8. Enlist support. With the rise of telehealth, many counselors, physical therapists, and trainers are offering virtual services. Consider supporting them and prioritizing your own well-being by working with one.
  9. Take stock of your finances and start tracking them. I know this is a tough situation for many, but we can all benefit from checking on our financial scenario, checking on our accounts, and tracking ways to save or invest our money during this crazy time.
  10. Ask yourself the tough questions. Are you where you want to be in life and moving in the direction you want to go? Spend the time to write down your goals, set visions, and dig deep.
  11. Find ways to give back. If you can, and you have the means to, support local businesses, donate to organizations, or get a movement started to help support COVID-19 relief efforts.

The 11 ways above should get you started off on the right foot. If you’re looking for more ways to spend this time, particularly related to working out, be sure to follow by blog, www.meginspire.com or connect with me @meginspire on Instagram. Thanks and be well.
